Herman van der Horst
Herman van der Horst (Alblasserdam, 1910 – Haarlem, 1976) was a Dutch film director, producer and screenwriter.
He become famous with his feature film Faja Lobbi (1960), a documentary in color about the interior parts of Suriname, which won a Golden Bear for best documentary at the Berlin Film Festival that year, and ‘The Ward of Merrit’ at the Melbourne Film Festival in 1963.
His short film Toccata (1969) was nominated as best short film for the Cannes Film Festival.
