Joseph-Guy Ropartz
Joseph-Guy Ropartz (1864-1955) was a French composer, conductor, and teacher. He was born in Guingamp, France, and received his musical education at the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied composition with Jules Massenet and Albert Lavignac. Ropartz is known for his symphonies, operas, and other works for the stage, as well as his choral music and piano pieces. Ropartz was also active as a conductor and served as the director of the Lamoureux Orchestra in Paris for many years. In addition to his composing and conducting activities, Ropartz was also a respected teacher, and taught at the Paris Conservatoire and other institutions.
