Wilhelm Volckmar (1812-1887) was a German organist and composer who was active in the 19th century. He was born in Hersfeld, Germany, and received his musical education from his father. He became a seminar music teacher in Homberg, and composed a number of works for organ and choir.
The compositions of Franz Liszt, with whom he was friends, significantly influenced his way of composing.

Volckmar’s compositions were largely religious in nature and included hymn tunes, anthems, and organ voluntaries. Some of his most well-known compositions include organ sonatas and a Symphony for Organ, Op. 66.
