Otto Nicolai (1810-1849) was a German composer, conductor, and music critic who was active in the 19th century. He was born in Königsberg, and studied music at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik.

Some of his most well-known compositions include the opera “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, and Symphony No. 2 in D major.
